Panoramic views: Admiring the dramatic views across the Dee Valley to Wales from the Droppingstone, on Bickerton Hill

Short, circular walks along the Sandstone Trail

The Sandstone Trail runs along Cheshire’s wooded sandstone spine and on into quiet, rural north Shropshire. As some of North-West England’s finest walking country, the elevated ridge naturally lends itself to some of the best and most varied short circular walks.

There are easy walks to stunning views, woodland strolls, and around medieval and Victorian castles and churches.

Other circular walks take in tranquil lakes and rivers, cosy tearooms and country pubs. There really is a circular walk for everyone.
