The Sandstone Trail runs through some of Cheshire’s prettiest countryside and, not surprisingly, there are plenty of attractions and other places where walkers and visitors can enjoy themselves along the way.
The area around Cheshire’s Sandstone Trail offers recreational opportunities for everyone, from cycling, horse riding and golf, to outdoor education and visitor centres, castles and gardens, a motor museum, a candle factory, an ice cream farm and more.

There’s also a range of seasonal events centred on the Trail, from outdoor live music at Delamere Forest, to the famous Sandstone Challenge and Sandstone Trail Race, and the Kelsall Folk Festival, to medieval mock combat at Beeston Castle and falconry at Peckforton Castle, the Bolesworth International showjumping event, and the Whitchurch Canal Arm boat rally.
